One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters.” (George Herbert)

Becoming a father isn’t difficult, But it’s very difficult to be a father.” (Wilhelm Busch)

He who begets a son is not yet a father, a father is he who begets a son and makes himself worthy of it.“. (Fëdor Dostoevskij)

“Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventures, story-tellers, and singers of songs”. (Pam Brown)

Father’s day is upon us and we want to celebrate the father figure.

Father’s Day is an event celebrated all over the world in honor of fathers and fatherhood: it was born at the beginning of the last century together with Mother’s Day to pay homage to the role of the parent within society.

In Italy, as in many of the countries of Catholic tradition, Father’s Day falls on March 19, the day of the calendar that in 1479 Pope Sixtus IV dedicated to the commemoration of St. Joseph, the putative father of Jesus.

Dad is a child’s first mate. For a child, his father is the strongest and bravest man in the world: a superhero who can protect him.

Dad is the one who inspires the child, who teaches him lessons and who guides him to face life.

Dad is like a fireman: he always takes care to extinguish fires that arise on the path of family life.

Dad is the shield that protects the family from pain and difficulties.

Dad is the person we can always count on.

To all the fathers of SPII

To all the fathers of the World

We wish your strength will lead your children to grow in the freedom of the world, up to become the distant beacon of a safe harbour!

See you next time,
