On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 3

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 3 1200 1600 Spii

From Italy to the Industrial Heart of Europe

With Tour 3, our road journey has reached its final chapter.
After travelling through France, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, and the Alpine regions, this time we headed towards a route that combines industrial tradition with technological innovation — from Italy to Austria and Germany.

Our van, faithful companion at every stop, was once again fitted with a carefully curated selection of our most representative human–machine interface components: master controllers, displays, terminal blocks, a footrest, and a disconnector. Not just items to showcase, but tangible invitations to interact.

As in every roadshow, we didn’t just bring technology with us — we brought conversations. Our goal was clear: to close this cycle of tours by meeting the people who make mobility happen every day, listening to their needs, and sharing visions for the future.

Stop by Stop

Alstom – Wien
The Austrian capital welcomed us at one of the most significant production hubs in the railway sector. At Alstom Wien, we found a team open to discussion, with a technical and strategic exchange that touched on innovation, ergonomics, and system integration.

Siemens – Erlangen
Continuing into Bavaria, Erlangen offered us the chance to engage with one of the leading excellence centres in railway technology. Discussions focused on how interface design can enhance day-to-day operational experience while meeting ever-higher standards.

Stadler – Chemnitz
In Chemnitz, in the heart of Saxony, we met a dynamic and forward-looking team. The dialogue was rich with insights on how to adapt human–machine solutions to complex and diverse operational contexts, balancing reliability with innovation.

Alstom – Mannheim
Our final stop — but by no means the least important. In Mannheim, surrounded by a long-standing industrial tradition, we wrapped up the journey with an in-depth conversation on the role of ergonomics and usability in driver’s cabins, with a focus on the added value that real-world experience can bring to design.

The Meaning of This Third Tour

Tour 3 was not just another series of visits, but the closing chapter of a journey that, over three tours, crossed 7 countries — France, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy — with over 15 stops.
We travelled to meet those who, every day, turn technology and design into trains that connect people and places.

Thanks to the dedication of the team on this final tour — Valerio Malfatto, Emiliano Grandi, Valentina Marrese, Paolo Casoretti, and Daniele Riva — we ended the 2025 Roadshow just as we started it: with energy, curiosity, and the desire to build genuine connections.

The road, for us, does not end here. The 2025 Roadshow chapter may be closed, but the journey of innovation continues — wherever we can.

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 2

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 2  1364 939 Spii

From Eastern Europe to the Alpine heart of the continent

After wrapping up our first roadshow through France and French-speaking Switzerland, it was time to head toward new borders, new questions, and new conversations.
Tour 2 brought us through a dynamic mix of regions; from the east’s industrial centers to the Alpine zones where precision and innovation go hand in hand.

Before departure, our van was carefully equipped with a curated selection of our most emblematic human-machine interface components: master controllers, displays, terminal blocks, a footrest, a disconnector switch; each element chosen not just to showcase innovation, but to invite interaction.

Throughout the journey, the van was our constant companion. It carried not only technology, but also conversations. At every stop, we arrived together on wheels and in person eady to connect. We met teams, visited facilities, exchanged insights, and concluded with a hands-on look at our products. A shared space, where stories and solutions could meet face to face.

Because this second roadshow wasn’t just about displaying technology but it was about building understanding. About listening to the people who use our solutions, day in and day out, and letting their insights guide us forward.

The Journey Stop by Stop

Alstom – Katowice
Our journey began in southern Poland, where industrial legacy meets cutting-edge manufacturing. At Alstom Katowice, the exchange was open, detailed, and highly technical: a dive into the realities of production and integration that set a strong pace for the rest of the roadshow.

Stadler – Praga
Next, we arrived in the heart of the Czech Republic. At Stadler Prague, we found a team ready to discuss the nuances of ergonomics, user experience, and the evolving role of interface design. The conversations were forward-looking, with shared curiosity about how our solutions can adapt to real-world challenges.

Stadler – Rheintal
In the scenic Rheintal valley, precision and engineering culture go hand in hand. This visit gave us a chance to dig deeper into design specifics, functionality, and day-to-day operations  with a clear focus on how each detail translates to the driver’s experience.

Stadler – Bussnang
Back at one of the most iconic production sites in the rail industry, Bussnang welcomed us with energy and insight. The exchange was dense with ideas, questions, and shared enthusiasm for pushing interface design forward in complex and evolving contexts.

RhB – Landquart
At the foot of the Alps, Rhätische Bahn offered a perfect finale. Surrounded by the landscapes where their trains operate, we had a grounded and insightful moment of dialogue around operational reality, expectations, and what it truly means to connect humans and machines.

What this second tour meant

This roadshow was a reminder of why showing up physically and personally still matters. We weren’t just there to present; we were there to understand. To open conversations about usability, ergonomics, and experience. To show, live and in context, the value of years of development and the expertise behind thousands of master controllers produced and perfected over time.

Thanks to the dedication of our Tour 2 crew;  Daniele Riva,  Paolo CasorettiStefano Borgonovo, and Valentina Marrese, this journey became more than a roadshow. It became an exchange of ideas, a step closer to those who work with our technology every day.

And the road doesn’t stop here. Tour 3 is just around the corner…
