Technology, people and territory at the service of railway innovation
We proudly took part in the twelfth edition of Expo Ferroviaria 2025, the leading B2B event in Italy for the railway industry, presenting our most innovative solutions dedicated to human–machine interfaces.
Founded in 1947, SPII has been a benchmark in the field of mechatronics applied to railway vehicles for over 70 years.
Since 2015, we have been the Center of Competence for Human–Machine Interface systems within the Schaltbau Group, combining Italian technical expertise with international know-how.
Today, we operate from two locations — Saronno and Gerenzano — and rely on a team of 174 people who contribute every day to the growth and innovation of the railway sector.
Innovation at the service of people
During the exhibition, we showcased our complete range of products, designed to ensure ergonomics, safety, and comfort for train drivers and railway operators.
Among the main solutions on display:
Next-generation Master Controller
Handles designed to facilitate repetitive movements and improve the driver’s posture.
SIL 2 Full Screen Display
Maximum readability and information safety, without altering the external dimensions.
Earthing Switches
Solutions developed to ensure operator safety during maintenance activities.

Slim Footrest
Compact, height-adjustable, and designed to optimize space and enhance interaction with pedal controls.
Schaltbau Connectors, Contactors, and Microswitches
Complementary products that complete our technological offering.

“For us, innovation is born from people, and people grow through innovation.”
— Silvio Zuffetti, CEO di SPII
An award that celebrates our commitment
During the event, ANIE Assifer presented us with a plaque in recognition of our long-standing contribution to the development and innovation of the railway sector.
An award that makes us proud and acknowledges our constant dedication to advancing the industry with reliable, safe, and future-oriented solutions.

Our roots at Expo Ferroviaria
At Expo Ferroviaria, we also wanted to bring a piece of our territory, sharing with guests and visitors Amaro and Amaretti di Saronno – symbols of a tradition that represents us and tells the story of our origins.
The bond with Saronno and Gerenzano is an integral part of our identity: it is from here that the ideas, energy, and passion we bring to our projects every day are born.
Looking to the future

We believe in the value of people as the driving force behind every innovation.
We continuously invest in training, safety, and wellbeing, creating a collaborative work environment that values talent and fosters each individual’s creativity.
Our participation in Expo Ferroviaria 2025 was yet another confirmation of our commitment to combining technological excellence, care for human capital, and a strong connection with our territory.
We will continue to develop solutions that enhance the operational experience of train drivers, improve the efficiency of railway vehicles, and, above all, redefine the way people interact with technology.
See you next time,
