On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 2

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 2  1364 939 Spii

From Eastern Europe to the Alpine heart of the continent

After wrapping up our first roadshow through France and French-speaking Switzerland, it was time to head toward new borders, new questions, and new conversations.
Tour 2 brought us through a dynamic mix of regions; from the east’s industrial centers to the Alpine zones where precision and innovation go hand in hand.

Before departure, our van was carefully equipped with a curated selection of our most emblematic human-machine interface components: master controllers, displays, terminal blocks, a footrest, a disconnector switch; each element chosen not just to showcase innovation, but to invite interaction.

Throughout the journey, the van was our constant companion. It carried not only technology, but also conversations. At every stop, we arrived together on wheels and in person eady to connect. We met teams, visited facilities, exchanged insights, and concluded with a hands-on look at our products. A shared space, where stories and solutions could meet face to face.

Because this second roadshow wasn’t just about displaying technology but it was about building understanding. About listening to the people who use our solutions, day in and day out, and letting their insights guide us forward.

The Journey Stop by Stop

Alstom – Katowice
Our journey began in southern Poland, where industrial legacy meets cutting-edge manufacturing. At Alstom Katowice, the exchange was open, detailed, and highly technical: a dive into the realities of production and integration that set a strong pace for the rest of the roadshow.

Stadler – Praga
Next, we arrived in the heart of the Czech Republic. At Stadler Prague, we found a team ready to discuss the nuances of ergonomics, user experience, and the evolving role of interface design. The conversations were forward-looking, with shared curiosity about how our solutions can adapt to real-world challenges.

Stadler – Rheintal
In the scenic Rheintal valley, precision and engineering culture go hand in hand. This visit gave us a chance to dig deeper into design specifics, functionality, and day-to-day operations  with a clear focus on how each detail translates to the driver’s experience.

Stadler – Bussnang
Back at one of the most iconic production sites in the rail industry, Bussnang welcomed us with energy and insight. The exchange was dense with ideas, questions, and shared enthusiasm for pushing interface design forward in complex and evolving contexts.

RhB – Landquart
At the foot of the Alps, Rhätische Bahn offered a perfect finale. Surrounded by the landscapes where their trains operate, we had a grounded and insightful moment of dialogue around operational reality, expectations, and what it truly means to connect humans and machines.

What this second tour meant

This roadshow was a reminder of why showing up physically and personally still matters. We weren’t just there to present; we were there to understand. To open conversations about usability, ergonomics, and experience. To show, live and in context, the value of years of development and the expertise behind thousands of master controllers produced and perfected over time.

Thanks to the dedication of our Tour 2 crew;  Daniele Riva,  Paolo CasorettiStefano Borgonovo, and Valentina Marrese, this journey became more than a roadshow. It became an exchange of ideas, a step closer to those who work with our technology every day.

And the road doesn’t stop here. Tour 3 is just around the corner…

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 1

On the Road with SPII: Stories from Tour 1 1920 2560 Spii

France & French-speaking Switzerland

Before we left, the van was ready. Packed not only with our energy and ambition, but also with a curated selection of real SPII components: four master controllers, a footrest, a disconnector, two displays, and a few terminal blocks. Carefully designed demos and a few surprises were tucked in between; a true mobile experience of who we are and what we do.

Each visit followed a simple rhythm: we began outside the van, introducing our solutions and exchanging with the teams on-site. When possible, we continued indoors for deeper conversations about SPII’s identity, ongoing and future projects, and how we could create something valuable together.

What we didn’t know yet was how much we’d gain along the way, not just in insights, but in real human connection.

Because this first tour wasn’t just a loop on a map. It was a route through France and French-speaking Switzerland, built around a simple idea: let’s stop talking about innovation from afar, and start showing it directly to the people who live it every day.

The Journey Stop by Stop

CAF – Reichshoffen
Our first stop set the tone. With an open and technical exchange, we presented our solutions and started building a two-way conversation; one that felt energizing and real. A perfect start for what was ahead.

Alstom – Valenciennes
In a hub that breathes rail production and innovation, we dove into usability, integration, and product design in a setting full of expertise and momentum.

RATP – Paris
A key moment in our tour: visiting one of the world’s most iconic urban networks.
Here, underground systems meet massive daily impact, and it was the perfect place to explore the relationship between interface design and operational reality.

SNCF – Le Mans
In a city known for precision and performance, we brought our solutions into direct discussion with the teams that keep mobility moving. A visit full of practical insights and mutual learning.

Alstom – La Rochelle
Close to the ocean, we had thoughtful, technical conversations around ergonomics, user experience, and how small interface decisions can make a real difference in complex environments.

MATISA – Crissier
Our final stop of Tour 1 brought us into the heart of Swiss rail excellence. At MATISA, we were welcomed with professionalism and depth, and left with new perspectives, ideas, and motivation for what comes next.

What this first tour meant

From France to Switzerland, this roadshow reminded us why we believe in being present. In every stop, we didn’t just present; we listened, learned, and exchanged.

It was a chance to take our technology out of the showroom and into the field, not just to meet the people who use it, but to demonstrate our expertise, built on years of experience and thousands of developed master controllers.

Showing our components directly, hands-on, and with context turned every visit into an opportunity to connect through action, not just words.

A real journey made possible thanks to the dedication of the team on the ground: Stefano Borgonovo, Paolo Casoretti, Emiliano Grandi, Valerio Malfatto, Valentina Marrese, and Daniele Riva

And this is only the beginning. In just a few weeks, the SPII van will be back on the road headed toward new borders, new questions, and new stories.

Webinar-Wellbeing

Let’s Talk About Mental Health

Let’s Talk About Mental Health 1920 2560 Spii

Yesterday we took part in the webinar “Training emotional intelligence”, focused on well-being and mental health, organized by our partner Mindwork – Wellbeing in progress, as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Because talking about how we feel, really, shouldn’t be a taboo.
Because mental well-being matters just as much as physical health.
And because a safe, supportive workplace starts with open conversations.

A big thank you to Chiara Codecà for guiding us through such an insightful and engaging session.
We’re happy to keep learning, sharing, and putting people at the center. Always.
